RULES

  • $230 entry per player.

    • $200 for main pot.

    • $20 deposit. Refunded to all players whose team plays minimum matches for playoff eligibility. Nonrefundable money gets added to main pot.

    • $10 commissioner costs. Money goes to commissioner to cover his costs to run the league such as website, domain, medals, etc. ($500/Total Players).

  • 3rd place team wins $800 from main pot ($400/player).

  • 1st place team from regular season standings wins 5% of remaining pot after 3rd place pay out.

  • Playoff finalists receive the remaining pot after the deductions listed above. Both teams will agree on the split of the pot before start of final match. If for any reason an agreement can not be reached, the split will be 75/25.

  • League starts on January 15th

  • Playoffs start on September 15th

  • A minimum of 6 matches must be played or you will receive a 1 season ban for the following season. Exceptions will be made for teams with season ending injuries who wish to return.

  • A minimum of 12 matches must be played to be eligible for playoffs. (#Teams/2)

  • Playoffs will consist of top 10 ranked teams with playoff eligibility. Seeds 1-6 are locked in for playoffs. Seeds 7-10 will participate in a one game elimination play-in tournament for the 7th and 8th seed. 7v10 & 8v9. Winners of play-in tournament will be seeded for playoffs based on regular season standings.

  • If by end of regular season there are less than 10 teams eligible for playoffs, the play-in tournament will not go forward and playoffs will start at quarterfinals with seeds 1-8.

  • If by end of regular season there are less than 8 teams eligible for playoffs, the top seeds will be given bye-weeks. No extensions for regular season.

  • Each playoff round must be completed within 2 weeks from the date their bracket is defined. If game is not played, the top seed passes to the next round. Extensions will be made on a case by case basis at commissioners discretion with full transparency to league for the reason.

  • Final and match for 3rd place will be played on same day, back to back, starting with match for 3rd, followed by final, ending with medal ceremony — Custom 1st (Gold), 2nd (Silver) and 3rd (Bronze) place Magic City Padel Club medals will be awarded to the 6 players — Commissioner will set date and location once playoffs start in coordination with the 4 teams involved. All league members are welcome and encouraged to attend this event as spectators. Commissioner will make sure to get a court where spectators can view comfortably.

  • If a team/player cancels a match in under 24 hours or one/both players do not show up to the match, the team at fault forfeits the match and it will be recorded as a W/O (Walk Out). Score will be recorded as 0-0 but the canceling/absent team gets the loss and the other team gets the win (3pts). Game can only be rescheduled and not counted as a W/O if both teams mutually agree.

  • Walk Outs will be logged in standings but wont count towards “games played” for playoff eligibility.

  • You are responsible for scheduling your own matches with your teammate and opponents in any order you want. You can play as many games as you want/can per week. There is not limit.

  • You can play every team a maximum of 2 times during the regular season.

  • Refer to the league standings or league group chat description to view all teams in order to find possible matches.

  • Substitute/replacement players are not allowed with only one exception. Exception explained in following rule.

  • If your teammate suffers a season ending injury, you may A) find a permanent replacement player to finish the season; or B) forfeit the season. No refunds on forfeits. New player must pay the injured player the entry for the league or share winnings (if any), your choice. Commissioner won’t be involved in this decision.

  • Due to time constraints, if needed, the 3rd set is a super tie breaker to 10, win by 2. If there is enough time for a full regular 3rd set, and both teams agree, it can be played as a full regular set. Regardless, winner of 3rd set will be scored as 1-0 for standings consistency. If you opt for a full 3rd set and run out of time/kicked off the court; whoever was leading the 3rd set wins the set regardless of score. â€‹â€‹All games are played with Deuce, not Golden Point.

  • If the following season has 30+ teams, we will split up into 2 divisions. This seasons standings will determine what division you are placed in for the following season. Top 20 teams will be placed in division 1. Remaining teams + new teams will be placed in division 2. Each division will have their own pot, all other rules remain the same.

  • In the event that we have 2 divisions, there will be promotion/relegation at the end of season 3. The bottom 4 teams in the division 1 standings are relegated to division 2. The top 3 teams in division 2 standings and the playoff champion are promoted to division 1. If the playoff champion was also in the top 3 of the standings, 4th in the standings gets promoted.
